Interactive demo · simulated match

Log a rally. Watch the calls build.

Try it here, with no account needed. Record the pass, pick the attacker and choose the result. The simulated stats update as you go. Watch each rotation's live swings build towards four. That's when VolleyLogic starts making rotation-specific calls from live data: who to set through, and where to start your block.

Live calls wait for four attacking swings in a rotation. Before that, VolleyLogic uses season data if it has some, as it does for your team here. With a new opponent and no season data, it says it's still collecting.

SimulatedEverything in this demo is simulated. The teams, numbers, season data and calls are made up, and the demo isn't connected to any real match. It starts at 12–10 in set 1, so each rotation already has a few swings logged from earlier in the set. An early read is a starting point, not a firm conclusion. The call wording and the four-swing rule come from the VolleyLogic app. Win a rally to serve, and you'll record the opponent's attacks too.

Why VolleyLogic

You're collecting match statistics. Are you actually using them?

VolleyLogic is a live volleyball coaching assistant, not another stats sheet. It's built on three principles.

Simple

Anyone on your bench can run it

No advanced scouting experience needed. Each rally is a few simple questions, so an assistant coach, team manager or injured player can record the match. A two-minute interactive tutorial gets them started.

Powerful

Built for competitive matches

Rotation-by-rotation reads, opponent setter tendencies and timeout guidance, while the match is still being played.

Decisions

Made for decisions, not data collection

Every rally feeds two plain calls, and each read shows how much evidence is behind it. You stay the coach. VolleyLogic helps you decide.

How it works

Built around the way a match actually runs.

From the lineup sheet to the post-match review, VolleyLogic follows the match in order, so the information you need is there when you need it.

  1. Before the first serve

    Set up, scout, plan

    • Your squad, with a main and second position for every player.
    • Starting rotation: tap a slot, then tap a player. Best of 5, best of 3 or your own format.
    • The opponent: enter their roster, or open their scout report, game plan and player briefs.
  2. During the match

    Record, read, react

    • Live stat entry, one question at a time: pass quality from 0 to 3, who was set, and what happened.
    • Rotation calls for both teams' rotations on court right now. Two calls, not twenty.
    • Timeout advice: hold, watch, or take the timeout.
  3. After the final whistle

    Review, share, learn

    • Match review and box score for the match and every set.
    • Coach summary, including three things you may not have noticed.
    • Season tracking by rotation, which shapes your plan for the next match.

Features

Volleyball statistics that turn into coaching decisions.

Four ways VolleyLogic helps during a match. Each one is about what you can do next, not how much data you've collected.

Rotation-specific performance

"We keep losing points in the same rotation."

Find the rotation that's costing you.

Volleyball is played in six rotations, P1 to P6, and a set often turns on just one or two of them. VolleyLogic records every rally against the rotation it happened in, so you can see which rotations are winning points and which are leaking them. That tells you where a tactical adjustment might help, instead of a vague sense that passing is off.

  • Side-out and break-point results for each rotation, live and across the season.
  • Season patterns that feed the opening plan for your next match.

Live timeout advisor

"I'm never sure whether to call a timeout."

Know when to stop the run.

The advisor weighs the match conditions and gives one plain piece of guidance: Hold, Watch or Take timeout, with the reasons and a pressure score out of 100. It supports your decision rather than making it. You're still the coach; VolleyLogic keeps count while you coach.

  • Tells you when to save a timeout, and when an unused one is being wasted late in the set.
  • Tracks the timeouts left on both benches.

Opponent scouting & player insights

"We can't tell which of their hitters is getting the ball."

Spot their tendencies. Turn them into a plan.

Enter the opponent's roster and record who they set. VolleyLogic tracks their setter's distribution in each of their six rotations, plus every player's attacking, for both teams. It turns those observations into calls you can act on: where to start your block, who to serve, and who to set through. After the match, it all feeds that opponent's scout report, game plan and player briefs.

  • Set destination and first-ball preference for every rotation, in the live calls and your match review.
  • Player status for both teams, ranked by coaching priority.
  • Role-by-role player briefs you can copy into the team chat or save as a PDF.

Evidence-based recommendations

"Is that a real pattern, or just one bad set?"

It knows how much it knows.

VolleyLogic doesn't treat every observation as equally reliable. It considers how much match information it has before recommending anything. A live call waits until a rotation has four attacking swings. Until then, VolleyLogic leans on season data if it has some, or says it's still collecting. Season reads carry an evidence label, so you can tell a hunch from a pattern.

  • Two calls at a time, one for attack and one for defence, not twenty.
  • Every call shows the numbers behind it.

Season reads carry an evidence label:

  1. Collecting

Not enough rallies to say anything yet.

  2. Early signal

Something may be forming. Keep watching.

  3. Emerging

A pattern is showing up across matches.

  4. Strong evidence

    Consistent enough to plan around.

Questions

What coaches ask first.

Something not covered here? Email Matthew, VolleyLogic's founder, at matthew@volleylogic.com.

What is VolleyLogic?

VolleyLogic is volleyball coaching software for school, club, college and university coaches. You record simple match events as they happen, and VolleyLogic turns them into rotation-by-rotation calls, timeout guidance, set break reports, scouting profiles and a full box score.

How much does it cost?

The VolleyLogic public beta is free to join. Create your account, take the two-minute interactive tutorial, and see how VolleyLogic turns match statistics into coaching calls.

Do I need scouting experience?

No. Each rally is a few simple questions: how good was the pass, who was set, and what happened. A two-minute interactive tutorial walks you through it before your first match.

How do I set up an account?

Choose Create free account, then enter your name, email and a password. You can start straight away. During the beta you can register up to three of your own teams, and opponents you scout are kept in your scouting library.

What devices does it run on?

An iPad is recommended for courtside use. VolleyLogic also works in the browser on a laptop, an Android tablet or a phone. There's nothing to download from an app store: open it in the browser and add it to your home screen. You'll need an internet connection.

What if the connection drops or the app closes?

Your match data is saved as you go, with recovery tools designed to help protect your work. If the app closes mid-match, Resume Match takes you back to the match in progress.

Does it track the opponent too?

Yes. Enter the opponent's roster before the match, and VolleyLogic records who they set in each rotation. That's what powers the blocking calls and scouting reports. Short on time? Skip the opponent's details, and their attacks are still counted, just without player names.

How is my data protected?

Your coaching data is stored in your own VolleyLogic account and is private to your account. You can export a backup of your matches whenever you like. Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, who handles it, and how to delete your account.

Can I import matches from other stats apps?

Not yet. Importing past matches is in development and is marked "Coming soon" in the app.

Can I use it at training?

Yes. Training mode records intra-squad sessions, Side A against Side B, and keeps those stats out of your season numbers, scouting and win–loss record.

Can my school or volleyball club use VolleyLogic?

VolleyLogic is designed for volleyball coaches across schools, clubs and collegiate programs. If you are interested in introducing VolleyLogic to your coaching staff or exploring how it could support your program, contact us at matthew@volleylogic.com.

Who makes VolleyLogic?

VolleyLogic is developed in Brisbane, Australia. Questions and feedback go straight to Matthew, the founder, at matthew@volleylogic.com.
